This water-soluble formula is made with the powerhouse ingredient of hydroxypropyl chitosan (HPCH). This product is perfect for people with dry, brittle nails or peeling nails caused by damage from nail enhancements.
Hydroxypropyl chitosan is a polysaccharide derived from the hard outer skeleton of shellfish like shrimp, crab, and lobster, but don’t worry! It won’t cause allergic reactions. In fact, it’s so benign that it earned a score of 1 on EWG Skin Deep.
HCPH is a water-soluble compound that is highly elastic, so as you paint it onto your nail plate, it forms a nearly invisible film. Hydroxypropyl acts as a carrier to deliver chitosan into the nail. Once there, it acts as an incredibly strong adhesive agent. This is GREAT news for people with brittle nails!! This product is meant to be used continuously, so you apply at night to the affected nails and wash off with water in the morning. Repeat until your nails are strong again. Once strong, you can return to wearing nail polish, only applying the HPCH for a few days between manicures. And with each day, we also recommend using REVIVE Nail +Cuticle Salve to encourage healthy nail cell development and softened cuticles.
